A Girl's Guide to NYC

Hello ladies!  Today I bring you a NYC travel guide dedicated to us.  Whether you're planning a getaway with your BFF, sister, girlfriend, or want to try out a few new places with your favorite guy, I've got you covered.

I'll be sharing some of my favorite spots to visit, eat, and drink on your next girls trip to one of the best cities in the world.  Let's get started!

Where to Eat

One of my all time favorite restaurants in the city is While We Were Young.  This restaurant is still pretty new, they recently turned one year old, but it has quickly become an icon.  You might have already seen it's famous avocado toast or plush velvet pink sits trend on Instagram.  It's the prettiest place and their food and cocktails do not disappoint! I'll admit, you will pay NYC prices, but I promise the food and drinks are amazing.  Plus the service, ambiance and music make it worth it.

(BB TIP: They just started allowing reservations which I HIGHLY recommend unless you plan on visiting right when they open.  They fill up fast!  They open for dinner at 4pm Monday-Wednesday.  Brunch is served Thursday and Friday at 12pm and Saturday and Sunday at 11am.)

Another great restaurant that I visited for the first time this past February is Maman.  There are a handful of locations in the city, but the one I went to is in Soho.  This place is   super yummy!  Great for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or early dinner.  (They close at 6pm.). Their menu has a French flare and  range from coffee, quiches, sandwiches, and salads to-go and dine in.  As well as amazing sweets!  The attention to detail is superb!  Their serving ware is major #goals!  Imagine dining in the kitchen section of Anthropologie.  I wanted everything.  They even have a small retail space attached!

(BB TIP:  I would HIGHLY recommend their lavender hot chocolate!)

If you are vegetarian or vegan then you have to check out The Butchers Daughter.  I am neither and I still enjoyed myself.  Super healthy and yummy.  There are 2 locations in the city, Soho area and West Village.  I recommend the vegan nachos!

I asked my lovely Instagram followers what places they recommended in the city and they didn't disappoint.  Here are my top picks:

Pietro Nolita- If you love the color pink and healthy Italian food, Pietro Nolita is for you.  The whole restaurant is pink.  From the outside to the inside.  It's also in the Soho area.  They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner.  Great spot for pictures and I hear their lamb burger is delish.

Cafe Lalo- This cafe was recommended as a great place for late night treats and coffee.  Cafe Lalo has major European vibes with floor-to-ceiling French windows.  I imagine it to be so beautiful when the weather is nice.  I think I might stop by for brunch, cheese and wine, and a frozen cappuccino.

Tanner Smith's- "Tanner Smith's is right near the bottom of the park and they offer group cocktails, one involves a champagne cocktail served out of a teapot!"  I was sold when my follower Laura wrote me this.  So I googled it and it seems so cool and unique.  The mail bar area is styled as an early 20th century drinking house.  The serve everything from breakfast to dinner and everything in-between.  I am definitely going to try the champagne in a tea pot!

What to Do

↠ If you're a lipstick lover like me, you're going to love creating your own custom lipstick at the Bite Lap by Bite Beauty.  It's such a fun way to spend the afternoon with your girls.  You get to choose your shade, finish, and scent.  I did this with my mom and aunt for my birthday and it was so fun.

↠ There's nothing like getting pampered for a day out in the city.  Dry Bar is the perfect spot to run in for a quick blow out or style.  There are a ton of locations in the city so you aren't really too far from one.  They only specialize in blowouts so don't go there expecting a cut or color.  The atmosphere is great and the ladies there are always really friendly.  They always have something good on TV and they feed you wine and champagne! 😉

↠ Last but certainly not least, Duane Park.  Now this last pick is a must whether it's for a girls night or date night.  This isn't your momma's dinner and a show.  Duane Park is a dreamy elegant burlesque dinner show.  The food is truly amazing.  My husband and I went for Valentine's Day this year and had an amazing time!  The dancers and singers are extremely talented.  I especially loved how there was a wide representation of women.  The performers were all different ethnicities and sizes.  All beautiful and talented.

The whole experience lasts a few hours.  Reservations fill up fast so I recommend reserving your table a couple weeks in advance.

(BB TIP: Dress up as much as you like.)

I hope you guys enjoyed this travel guide!  What are your favorite places in the city?  Let me know in the comments.  I'll be heading back to NY mid May.  Plan on creating another guide with some of my favorite outdoor spots and rooftops!

Happy Friday!
