Photo Diary: LA for my Birthday + a Few New Favorite Spots

For my 31st birthday Angel and I headed up to LA for the weekend.  We live just a couple of hours away so it was a fun getaway.  Lately, we've headed to LA more frequently and always find ourselves wanting to do more.  This time, we decided not to stay for the usual 12 hours.  We took advantage of the long weekend and booked a room at The Nomad Hotel.  Explored a few new spots, enjoyed our beautiful hotel, and even got to spend time with family who I haven't seen in years.

In today's post, I'll be sharing some photos and recommendations for your next visit to LA.

First, the hotel.

The Nomad Hotel is incredible!  I could have stayed in our room the whole time with no problems.  Everything is so chic and beautiful.  And the tub, hello!  I made sure to use it daily.

I did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant because it was booked to capacity.  Honestly, I didn't even mind because the rooftop served exactly what I was craving, fries and fried chicken.  I'm looking forward to visiting the rooftop again when it gets warmer, the pool area is such too cool.

They also have the cutest coffee bar.  Yummy cappuccinos and breakfast foods.  One thing to keep in mind, the food is available until it's sold out.  They do not cook to order.

A great restaurant we found is the Jane Q.  It's located in the Kimpton Hotel in Hollywood.  They have yummy infused gin and tonics and a great happy hour.

If you're in to plants and interior design, I would highly recommend visiting Rolling Greens Nursery. Talk about major inspo!  On the weekends they even have a coffee shop pop up.  You can shop plants, real or fake,  home decor and furniture.

On our last day, we headed to Melrose and just walked.  It was finally sunny and it felt so nice to walk and pop in and out of store.

There are also a bunch of photo worthy corners, like this rainbow cactus wall.

Hope you guys enjoyed this quick photo diary!  Make sure to follow along on IG for more LA recommendations.
