#AskBB: Answers to Your Most Recent Questions

Hey guys! If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you might remember a post I did asking if you had any questions for me. Any question at all, about anything. One thing that I love about bloggers is when they take the time and reach out to their followers. I try my best to respond to everyone who asks me a question but I'm sure some get lost in the mix. I honestly appreciate all of you and would love to help out in any way that I can. Whether it's the name of a lipstick I'm wearing, or a question that will help you to get to know me better. I am here! Let's just not get too personal ;) LOL.

So here goes...

When are you starting beauty tutorials/videos? I've been asked this a few times over the past 2 years.  My excuse is time and equipment. For example, lighting and video editing software. If I'm going to make videos I want them to be legit. I'll also need Angel's help since I have no idea what I'm doing. Honestly, sometimes we struggle with finding the time to prepare my outfit posts. So this is a big reason why I haven't started yet. And I just feel silly. I suck at videos LOL (wahh). Do I want to film videos? Yes! So when I finally get my act together I promise to start making them.

What's your favorite store to shop at? I have a few! I love love love H&M. If I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life it would be H&M. But like every relationship, we have our ups and our downs. So when I'm not shopping there I'm usually at Forever 21, Zara, and JCrew.

What are some of your fashion and beauty inspirations? I really love vintage, classic beauty. Style that existed when people dressed up for no real reason other than it was good manners. I've always admired the bold style of the 20s and the classic femininity of the 50s. Vintage inspired pieces will always be a favorite of mine. It's why I have a collection of midi skirts and dresses. It's also why a red lip is my go-to.

What would you say was your biggest fashion mistake growing up? Not being myself. In high school I wore a uniform, thankfully. But when we were allowed to wear our regular clothes I always worried about what I would wear and what everyone would think. I had to wear "name brands". I had to fit in. I didn't really have a personal style. Around my 2nd-3rd year of high school I realized I was over that. I started to find my personal style and that's when I really fell in love with fashion.

Do you guys remember those Chinese slippers with the jewels and sequins sewn in? I remember buying them on the streets in NY. They came in every color imaginable. Well, lets say I had all the colors LOL And I styled those things like if they were real shoes.

Who/What inspired you to start blogging? My obsession for clothes and shopping inspired me to start blogging. I used to help friends and family with shopping and styling and always had so much fun doing it. I thought it would be nice to have a place where I could share my fashion finds and outfits in hopes to show women that having great style doesn’t have to break the bank. It could be a happy medium between inexpensive and luxury.

How did you meet your husband? My husband Angel and I met in NYC a little over 11 years ago at the Blockbuster he worked at. I walked in with my sister one night to rent movies and left an hour later with his phone number! LOL And we've been together ever since!

When will you and the hubby bless the world with the most beautiful baby ever? Hahaha. I promise that's exactly how the question was asked. The answer is...I don't know. I like to tease him and say that he has to take me to Paris 1st! ;)

Explain your process: how do you put an outfit together? I honestly don't know how to answer this. Mostly because my process changes depending on the occasion. Most of the time I create outfits from memory. I follow a lot of bloggers and browse Pinterest often for outfit inspiration. I have all these outfits stored in my brain and just do "looks for less" with what I have in my closet or shop with outfits already in mind.

Where do you see The Bobbed Brunette in 5 years? I think it's every bloggers dream to be able to say that blogging is their full time job. Yes, I would love that! I could picture myself traveling, hosting events, shopping, and blogging my adventures. But, who the hell knows. In 5 years I would love to have a larger following and get into styling and personal shopping more.

What advice can you give to people that are interested in blogging? Blog what you love! This way you'll always have something to talk about. Choose a blogging platform that is easy to use. I really love Blogger (owned by Google) and would recommend it for new bloggers. Before your blog becomes live I would have a few posts already completed and ready to publish. I think as a new blog you should post something at least 3 times a week. This will help engage new followers.

Skincare routine? My skin care routine is pretty simple. I wash and exfoliate every night before bed. I use Aveeno Positively Radiant face wash and St. Ives apricot scrub. I also moisturize with Oil of Olay, "Night of Olay Firming cream". One of my little secrets is AMBI fade cream. It works wonders on dark spot and pesky little acne scars. I also use Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment.

How do you achieve your flawless foundation? I am obsessed with Revlon's PhotoReady Foundation. It's the BEST. Covers well and leaves your skin with a dewy finish. I apply that with a Beauty Blender. Some days I use primer. When I do, I use NYX's Pore Filler.

Ethnic background? Puerto Rican :)

How do you stay positive? There's always going to be someone who is better than you at something. But there will only, ever in this whole world, be one you! You have to remember that and always be true to yourself. Love yourself and surround yourself with people you genuinely love you for you. Make your self esteem so high, that when those unhappy people do say something that bothers you, (and trust me, they will say something) it only bothers you for a small amount of time and you go back to being the best possible you only you can be!

Thank you sooo much for those you asked a question! Remember, I'm always here if you want to chat! Have a great weekend!

XO
