Hey everyone!  Long time no post.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Today's post will be a bit different from my normal posts, but helpful for those who are starting their own business or simply like learning about digital marketing.  If this is you, keep reading for some great resources I've found to help get you started. 😊 

With everything going digital nowadays it's really important to understand digital marketing to help grow your own business or career.  What exactly is digital marketing and why does it matter?  Well, it covers everything from setting your business up online, Search Engine Optimization SEO, Search Engine Marketing SEM, creating and purchasing ads on search engines (like Google), display advertising, email marketing, social media, understanding analytics, and so so much more.  Many of these topics can be overwhelming when trying to teach yourself, but I've found some great resources that make it so much more attainable.  So lets's get started!

Fundamentals of Digital Marketing

This course is offered by Google Digital Garage and includes a FREE certification at completion, which is great to add to your resume!  I just completed this course earlier this week and it is by far my favorite marketing course I've taken.  It was so informative (be prepared to take notes) and so well organized.  It includes 26 modules and each module is broken up with multiple topics.  There are questions after each topic and a quiz after each module to test your understanding.  This course talks about everything I listed above + more.  At the end of the course you will be prompted to complete a test, that you must pass with an 80% or higher, to earn the certificate.  It is self-paced and took me about 15 hours to complete, 3hrs/day for 5 days.  This course was created in the UK so you will notice the examples used are mostly from the UK.  Honestly though, it's no biggie.

Google Digital Garage

Now, this platform houses the one I mentioned above and is a Grow with Google Programme.  It is such a helpful resource with courses and webinars that range from digital marketing, social media, data and tech, and career development.  A majority of the courses/webinars are FREE and it's run by Google so you know you're getting great and up to date information + it's approved by industry experts. 

 #LatinaMentors by We All Grow

We All Grow is a FREE community created by Latin women to help all women succeed in their entrepreneurial journey.  They recently came out with #LatinaMentors, "a two-part program consisting of a class and a fund to support the entrepreneurial dreams of women like you."  The classes are taught by four successful entrepreneurs and sponsored by AARP.  They discuss branding, building community and partnerships, and monetization.  I completed these classes yesterday and really enjoyed them.  They also provide you with a workbook with pages of worksheets to help you define your business that's super helpful! 

Now these resources that I've mentioned are ones that I can speak on from experience and can honestly recommend.  There are a few others that I haven't personally tried but look really promising and come highly recommended.

COURSERA - Coursera collaborates with over 200 universities and companies to give you access to university courses at a discount and get industry-recognized credentials.  One course that I have my eye on is the Social Media Marketing Specialization. (You can also earn a certification upon completion.)

SKILLSHARE - Skillshare offers video-based courses in areas like animation, design, illustration, lifestyle, photography, film, business and writing.  There is a fee to use the platform, but you can try it out for free or just explore the free courses, here.
