Good morning! This weekend we celebrated the Kentucky Derby and Gold Cup by attending DC's Drink the District: Derby Edition. It was so much fun! There were mint juleps, big hats, and bow ties everywhere. I love any excuse to get dressed up so I was pretty excited to channel my inner derby girl. While searching online for inspiration for an outfit, I read that wearing black was a no. If you did wear black, it had to be at a minimum. Well, I love black. So mission accepted! I wanted to wear something that was different and not your average sundress. Plus, I really didn't want to buy anything LOL. So this is what I came up with :)

 

I really loved wearing this outfit. I felt chic, classic, and a whole lot of fancy! ;) Maybe we should wear big hats more often? LOL

I tried this cape on and fell in LOVE! I am def going back for this! So Chic!

 

 

Turtle necks and the color green are huge trends for the Fall. I love pairing these long sweaters with tights, boots, booties, and faux leather pants.

 

 

I love blazers! The end.

 

 

I feel like leather is the new denim and I love the olive color of these. Dress pants are a must! I like that these aren't the normal black and I love the cut.

 

 

I really want to get into wearing hats more often. Not only do they hide a bad hair day, but they chic up an outfit! This fur is ugh-ma-zing! It looks small in this picture but it is BIG! LOL A good chic big. Every girl needs some fur and I love the blue-black color of this one.

Woohoo, it's Friday!!!

 

While at the Outer Banks I was finally able to wear my vintage inspired swim suit :-D I've been wanting one for a while now and fell in love with this black and white polka dot print a few weeks ago. Now, I will be honest and say I didn't wear the bottoms out on the beach. I was determined to come home with a tan and I didn't think an Oreo belly would of been a good look in my other bikinis. LOL But I do LOVE this suit and cant wait to wear it again. :)
