Miami Photo Diary

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone is enjoying their long Labor Day weekend.  Today I'll be sharing the first of many posts from my Florida trip. I hope you enjoy!

Last month I spent almost the entire month in Florida.  For those of you that don't know, Angel and I currently live in South America (for work).  It felt amazing to be back home!  Through out the month we visited Orlando, Tampa, and Miami.  For today's post, I'll be sharing a bit from our time in Miami.
Where We Stayed
We checked into the SLS Brickell in downtown Miami for a long weekend.  This hotel is soooo great!  The rooms are gorgeous and super comfy.  This was my first time in Miami.  I wanted the "Miami vibes" without the craziness of South Beach.  I am so happy that we decided to stay downtown because in my opinion, South Beach is a bit overrated.  Anyway, the rooms at the SLS Brickell are so trendy and photogenic.  The staff was great and they have great nearby restaurants.  My favorite part was the pool. You have to see it for yourself, below are photos.

Where We Ate

Our first night we had dinner at Bazaar Mar by Jose Andreas.  Wow, was the food good!  They specialize in seafood.  I highly recommend having a meal here.  Everything from the food, drinks, desserts, service, ambiance, and decor was superb.  Attached to Bazaar Mar is this really cool bar called Bar Centro.  Their cocktails are like magic.  I'm talking margaritas with salt air, caipirinha's made with liquid nitrogen, and wood smoked old fashions.  Bar Centro is the perfect happy hour spot or grab a drink while you wait to be seated at Bazaar Mar.  Hotel SLS Brickell also has this unique lounge called SAAM.  Picture a indoor/outdoor vintage safari themed living room equipped with antique globes and African masks.  Another great happy hour spot with yummy cocktails and tasty eats.

I would also recommend heading to Calle Ocho for the yummiest Cuban food.  You really can't go wrong with which restaurant you decide to eat at.

On Sunday we headed across the street to Segafredo Brickell for a bottomless bellini brunch.  Their eggs benedict was the best I ever had! (Photographed below.)

What We Did

There are obviously tons of things to do while in Miami and I googled it all prepping for our trip.  One thing I was determined to do was explore.  Yea, we ate and drank.  We drove through the famous design districts, drove through South Beach, and shopped. But, my favorite thing that I would HIGHLY recommend are the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.  It's like taking a trip back in time.  The villa was built between 1914 and 1922, located in the Coconut Grove area, and has views of Biscayne Bay.  I hope you check it out!

I hoped you guys enjoyed this mini Miami photo diary!  Outfit posts coming soon.
