Photo Diary: Hello Again, East Coast

Heyyy! I'm officially back in SoCal after a few weeks on the east coast.  My husband, Angel, was promoted earlier this month in VA and the whole family travelled to attend his promotion ceremony.  It was such a great time!  I then visited family in NYC and went back to VA to celebrate my birthday weekend and attend a friend's wedding.

I visited a couple new spots that I loved and wanted to share, as well as some photos that didn't make it to the gram.  Hope you enjoy!

New York City Photo Diary + Some of my Favorite Places

Hey guys!  If you've been following along on Instagram, you probably know that I was recently back home in New York for about 2 weeks.  I had such a great time exploring and trying out new places.  I thought I would share a small travel guide/photo diary with some recommendations on where to go and what to eat. NYC is huge and can become a bit overwhelming, especially if you're only there for a few days.  I hope this helps you out a bit and gets you to explore more of the boroughs beside Manhattan.

Let's get started!

First up, DUMBO.  DUMBO stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.  It's where you go to get those Insta worthy photos with the Brooklyn Bridge behind you.  DUMBO has great restaurants like the River Cafe, Jacques Torres Chocolate, and great smaller spots for pizza, ice cream, and lobster rolls.  The Brooklyn Bridge Park is the perfect place to soak up the great views and have a picnic.  Oh!  Can't forget Jane's Carousel.

Untermyer Gardens

Happy September! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I spent mine in New York spending time with my family and celebrating my niece's 3rd birthday! :) Now even though I grew up in NY, I took for granted all it has to offer. This trip we decided to do something new and be tourists for a few hours (and work in a photo shoot). LOL

Welcome to Yonkers hidden gem, the Untermyer Gardens...

It was like I walked into a time machine and was sent back to ancient Greece. This Persian inspired garden was designed back in 1912 and it's absolutely beautiful!! The gardens is spread over 150 acres and looks over the Hudson River. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend visiting the Untermyer Gardens and most of all...don't forget your camera!

Now for the outfit. Last time I wore these shorts was in my Boyfriend Chic post. This outfit is very similar but just a little dressier. I added a bit more color and pattern this time and heels for a more feminine touch.

 Talk to ya soon!
