Pink and Blue

Top/Shorts: H&M, Flats: Zara, Bag: Marc Jacobs, Necklace: Forever 21

Happy Friday!

The heat has been intense these past couple of weeks and I have been recycling the same look; off the shoulder top, shorts, and pinned up hair.  I am officially obsessed with fun patterned shorts for the Summer.  They make getting ready that much easier and keep me cool in this hot weather.  I have 2 new pairs I can't wait to style and many, many more sitting in my shopping cart.  I have included some of those below in case you need some too. ;)

Have a wonderful weekend!

#SimplySophisticatedSummer with Banana Republic

{Photos by Angel Rodriguez}

Top/Bottoms: Banana Republic (here and here)
Thank you Banana Republic for sponsoring this post!

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Summer is here and you know what that means; new clothes, never ending weekend plans, rooftop bars for happy hour, and a jam packed schedule that you're actually excited about!

When I turned 20, I got my first "big girl" job in NYC.  I used to love watching the women all dressed up heading to work in the mornings, then headed out for food and drinks in the evenings.  I always admired how put together and effortless they looked.  I would think to myself, "How do they do it?!  They must have to wake up so early to get ready."  It was a persona that I always admired and wanted to emulate, but didn't know how.  As I got older I realized that these women were no different from me.  They just had amazing confidence.  By now, we all know that when we look good we feel good.

Summer style should be easy, fresh, clean, and fun.  This is why I'm so excited to partner up with Banana Republic for their Simply Sophisticated Summer campaign.  I understand that the word sophisticated can come off as stuffy or boring, but it doesn't have to.  It can mean classic, put together, and effortless.  To me, Banana Republic represents it all.

The trick to looking chic all day in the Summer is a wardrobe full of classic and timeless pieces with a mix of what's trending.  Outfits that will take you from meetings during the day and happy hour at night.

For example. this beautiful off the shoulder blouse.  Bare shoulders are very trendy this Summer.  Having it in this classic white makes it the perfect substitute to the white collar shirt, for casual Fridays at the office.  It's also a great "mix and match" piece because it goes well with jeans and shorts.

Moral of the story, don't let your "day" clothes ruin your "Summer night" plans.

I hope you all enjoyed this post!  Both pieces are linked, plus more BR Summer faves, and a sneak peek at how I styled this top for a casual weekend look below.  Wishing you all a great week!

It's officially Summer! :)  That means off the shoulder everything, tanned skin, loose fabrics, and bright colors.  Pretty much everything I tried to incorporate in today's look.  I hope you all like it.

Pool Day

Swimsuit: H&M (old), Kimono: Forever 21 (old)

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Over the weekend Angel and I did one of my favorite things, have a picnic by the pool.  Guacamole, hummus (another 2 of my favorite things), pineapple, some wine, and an empty pool to ourselves made for a perfect Saturday.

Below I linked some of my favorite pool day essentials for easy shopping.  Wishing you all a great week!
